A year earlier, on that very same road, four Palestinian workers abducted their Israeli employer and placed him on summary trial, charging him with the injustices of Zionism and the crimes of occupation.
Nadav Lapid (b. 1975) is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker and the first Israeli to win the Golden Bear at the 2019 Berlin Film Festival for his film Synonyms. His debut feature, Policeman, won the Special Jury Prize in the 2011 Locarno Festival. His 2014 film, The Kindergarten Teacher, was developed at Jerusalem International Film Lab and premiered at the 2014 Cannes International Critics’ Week. The Kindergarten Teacher won numerous international awards and had its remake as the award-winning American feature starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. In 2019 he shot his new feature Ahed's Knee, to be released in 2021. Lapid is a teacher at JSFS.
