A building in Hebron, which has been deserted by its Palestinian owners, is named after its sole occupants - a deaf woman, Sahar, and her bright eight year-old son, Yousef. The family's story unfolds against the backdrop of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as told through the eyes of the charismatic Yousef.
Director, editor and screenwriter Tamar Kay (b. 1985) was nominated for an Israeli Academy Award as editor of the series Arik Einstein: A Standard Love Song, which won the 2017 Israeli Television Academy Award for Best Documentary Series. In 2018 she directed the web series Senior Moments. She is one of the creators of the television series Unchained, nominated for twelve 2020 Israeli Television Academy Awards. Kay teaches at JSFS.
