SYNOPSIS

From inside the protected security room in his Israeli home, watching bombed-out Baghdad on television during the 1990 Gulf War, David tells the story of his Iraqi immigrant family. Questions of identity and the meaning of home surface in the confines of the sheltered room.

DIRECTOR'S BIO

David Ofek (b. 1968) is a leading Israeli filmmaker. His award-winning works include, among others, the television series Bat Yam-New York (1993), which won the Israeli Academy award for Best TV Drama Series; the documentary No. 17 (2003), which won the Israeli Academy Award for Best Documentary; the television series Minimum Wage (2012), which won Best TV Drama Series; the feature Born in Jerusalem and Still Alive (2019), winner of the Best Israeli Film award at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
